深セン南山科技パークで3年間プロジェクトに携わり、10軒以上のホテルに宿泊した経験から、このホテルLia Charlton Hotel Shenzhenはすぐに私の出張時の第一候補となりました。最大の魅力は「通勤の手間ゼロ」。地下鉄の乗り換えから周辺のアメニティまで、ビジネス旅行に必要なあらゆる要素を完璧に満たしています。早朝の会議に遅れることを常に心配している私のような人間でさえ、ここでは自由な旅を満喫できました。
このホテルの最大の強みは、公共交通機関へのスムーズなアクセスです。地下鉄13号線月海門駅C出口を出て、ホテルのロビーまでは徒歩わずか4分。28インチのスーツケースを引きずりながら、日陰の廊下を歩くと、深センの夏の強い日差しを完全に遮ってくれます。深セン北駅と宝安空港へは乗り換えなしで直通の地下鉄が利用できるため、ラッシュアワーの渋滞や遅延の心配は一切不要です。早朝便の日は、ホテルから空港までわずか40分で到着しました。これは、福田に宿泊していた同僚たちよりも30分も短い時間です。バス停は入口からわずか50メートルのところにあり、10路線以上が科学園区全体を網羅しています。近くのテンセントビルや百度ビルまではたった2駅なので、配車サービスを利用する必要はほとんどありません。

深セン科学園でのプロジェクト会議中、オフィスビルが立ち並ぶ格安ホテルはあえて避け、深セン湾沿いのLia Charlton Hotel Shenzhenに宿泊することにしました。当初は科学園に近いという点だけを重視していましたが、3泊してみて、南山区にひっそりと佇むこの高級ホテルが、深センの活気ある街並みと海岸沿いのゆったりとした雰囲気を完璧に融合させていることに気づきました。慌ただしいスケジュールの中、ようやく心身を休めることができる場所を見つけたのです。
深セン北駅から地下鉄5号線に乗り、駅からホテルまでは徒歩わずか5分。回り道をする必要もなく、灼熱の太陽の下を急ぐ必要もなかったので、企画書が詰まったスーツケースを抱えて歩くのもずっと楽でした。チェックインの際、受付係は私がサイエンスパークで開催される会議に出席することを知ると、チェックイン手続きを迅速に進めてくれただけでなく、積極的に通勤ルートの案内まで提供してくれました。深セン湾科学技術生態公園までは徒歩わずか8分。近くには24時間営業の潮州麺店や、入札書類をすぐに印刷できるビジネスセンターも分かりやすく表示されていました。朝のラッシュアワー時の公園周辺の交通渋滞を避けるルートまで丁寧に教えてくれたのです。高層階の部屋のドアを開けると、床から天井まで続く大きな窓から深セン湾からの風が吹き込み、遠くにはきらめくタレントパーク、そして目の前には街のスカイラインが広がりました。
